Roman Strap Fitting
A find from last year in the Sandbach area by our artefacts officer. This one is a Roman strap fitting, probably a belt stiffener from a military uniform and dates from 200-300AD. It’s unclear how much significance Sandbach had to the Romans but they certainly were in the vicinity as evidenced by the Roman road …
Musket balls
We are also delighted to share with you some finds from two local detectorists. All found in the Sandbach area. They found a few musket balls from early 1800, some buttons, a lapel brooch, a shield decoration and a zippo lighter which had a naked lady on it.
